American Turners look to the future.
Since 1848, when the first society was organized in the United States, the American Turners have remained true to the core principle of “a sound mind in a sound body.” Over the years, however, it has adapted its programs and operations to meet the challenges of changing needs and expectations.
This year, the American Turners will begin a strategic planning process. The first step will be to revisit the organization’s mission statement to reflect our purpose, articulate a clear vision of what success looks like, and define the core values that guide decision-making and behavior.
The next step will be a clear-minded and honest assessment of where we currently stand.
This requires information gathering. We need to have a copy of your current bylaws and budgets, as well as a description of your society’s programs. Please send these to Kate Payne at the national office.
Only then will we begin to look at specific strategic goals and create an action plan. We are a national organization that brings together the local clubs to create something bigger and better than we can accomplish individually.
